Following the session on “Non-Violent Communication/Communicating for Advocacy”, participants will bring a real scenario into group involving a co-worker or client where communication has broken down (case examples will also be provided). We will practice communicating through role play using observations, feelings, needs and requests to improve and enhance communication while reducing judgment and frustration with co-workers or clients. Using the tools of NVC and self-awareness, we will have an opportunity to practice our communication skills by being clear, direct, kind, and honest while making it safe to share. We will also become aware of and manage their emotions, needs, and selves to perform effectively through communication to have productive and successful conversations with team members and clients.
