Following the session on “Ethical Dilemmas: Social Work in Criminal Defense”, we will discuss several ethical dilemmas that may arise in the criminal defense setting. In our small groups, we will evaluate these ethical scenarios based on models of advocacy and ethics for social workers engaged by criminal defense practitioners. We will also distinguish ethical decision making based on the Pure Advocacy versus Best Interest practice.
