Hotel:  Hotel information forthcoming.

For Social Workers Seeking CE Credits:

Continuing Education: we are in process of applying for CEU credits from NASW. We will update this page once we have further information. Items to keep in mind to prepare for obtaining CEU's at the conference:

You are responsible for signing into sessions where you are seeking credit and NAPD will tally your time and provide you with a certificate in the weeks following the conference end.

Please note that not all sessions from the conference are CEU eligible, and not all session details were available at the time the NASW CEU application was submitted. All CE-eligible sessions are marked in Sched.

A note about CEU credit: because some of the We the Defender conference sessions were still being developed at the time the NASW CEU application was due, some sessions are not listed as eligible for CEU credit. This is simply due to timing and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please review the CEU-eligible sessions below.

  1.  All CEU sign in sheets will be available and passed around during applicable CEU-eligible sessions.

  2. All CEU Sign In Sheets have the session name and presenter at the top of the sign in page. Look for the correct session sign in as it is passed around. You are responsible for signing in for the session you are attending. (Note: there are no sign-in sheets for sessions without CE credit).

  3. Only NASW-approved social work credit is available. Paralegal, investigator, substance use, or legal continuing education credits are not available to attendees at WTD (as applied for by NAPD). NAPD does not generally track attendance or provide certificates of attendance for conferences. Not all WTD sessions qualify for social worker CEU credit.

  4. Approved Sessions will be listed here: The following sessions have been approved for NASW CEU credit, and asterisks (*) indicate a break-out session where there may be multiple CEU-approved sessions  occurring at the same time:

If you have questions about the CEU credits listed here, please find Stephanne  Thornton at the conference or email her at stephanne.thornton@publicdefenders.us.

For questions about CEU credits after the conference, please contact events@publicdefenders.us
  • Before requesting CE credits, please complete the post training evaluation survey to help us in our reporting requirements to NASW. (link forthcoming)
  • To request your CE certificate: scroll to the bottom of the schedule and you'll find a closing session that includes instructions as well as a form to complete to identify the sessions for which you are seeking credit.
  • Certificates are to be awarded pursuant to the attendance notes we have from the event, so please make sure you are signing in for the sessions you would like to receive credit for.  The certificates will not be automatically generated, but will be awarded on request pursuant to the attendance notes we have from the event.
  • Certificates will be emailed within 4-6 weeks after the initial request.

Dress/Attire: Dress will be casual for the conference (jeans, t-shirts).  Because everyone’s comfort levels are different, bring layers for your comfort in the hotel.

Forgotten password:  Please keep an eye out for an email from National Public Defense Virtual Conference to log in and re-set your password. Sched will not automatically save your password, so make sure you have saved it somewhere that you can remember.

I’ve registered but have never set a password:

Please email events@publicdefenders.us. What most likely happened is the automated email from Eventbrite/Sched did not come through OR the process of setting up your Sched account was incomplete, so your account is currently considered “Inactive.” Please email our Events Helpdesk for support. If you have your order confirmation # from Eventbrite, please include that information.
